Symbolism in "The Robber Bridegroom"
This short story has a lot of symbolism in it. There have been many versions written of it. In this version by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, A bride-to-be pays a visit to his bridegroom's cottage. When, she gets there, she gets two different warnings about her future husband. On comes from an old woman, calling him a murderer. But, even before that, she gets a warning from a parrot. "Turn back, turn back, you young bride.
You are in a murderer's house."
I think that the parrot is a symbol. I think that it represents the girl's conscience about this guy. Even before she arrived, she didn't want to come. But, if it weren't for her curiosity, she wouldn't have saved the old woman's life- or more importantly her life.

Blue Beard
We all have read the classic stories of Cinderella or heard the stories Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. But, not all fairy tales are as light as this one. Some are very dark. One of which is the story Blue Beard by Charles Perrault. This story is really different from The Little Mermaid. I really recommend this story to everyone-who is not a child. Blue Beard is an intense story about a wife who has to overcome her officiousness.
A lot of today’s fairy tales tell the
same moral. But, these stories are to be told to children. It seems like people
don’t want their children to be exposed to murder and blood in the storied they
read.
The moral of this story is that curiosity
leads to trouble if its not contained. Once satisfied, the desire goes away,
but it always ends up hurting you.

Why Writers are the Worst Procrastinators
I recently have read an article by Megan McArdle called Why Writers Are the Worst Procrastinators. It was a really good article and I really liked the points that the author used. I liked how she said that many writers have a fear of turning into nothing and failing. She also said that the problem with children and the school system is that children need to learn to embrace hard work.
Why do I tell the stories I tell? 3/17
Why do I tell
stories? I mean, what is the point? Telling stories don’t do anything for you.
They don’t give out new information. If anything, they confuse the reader so
that they don’t know reality from fantasy.
The reader has no way of knowing the truth.
Is that amusing to
us? I think that this is the reason why we write stories. We actually find
others’ misperception amusing. We aren’t all evil, but we mentally find this
engaging. We like to boggle their minds. We make them try to figure it out on
their own with our little clues and hints. Writers are tricky. But, that’s the
way we know how to be. It’s the way we like to write.
Another reason
that they might tell stories is because it is in demand. People think that they
want to be in charge of their own decisions, and they do. But, they still want
to be told that if you can relate to this character, then this is how you all feel and this
is why you all feel that way. That is why people read stories. Writers
write because they are good at it and they know people will read it.
People say that
they right because they love to, but they write because there is a demand for
their writing.

At Your Best- An Image Inspired Story 3/5
Let me know.
When I feel how I feel, sometimes it's hard to tell you. You may not be in the mood to learn what you think you know. You think you know everything. There are times when I find you want to keep yourself from me. When I don't have the strength; I'm just a mirror of what I see.
But at your best you are love. You're a positive motivating force within my life. Should you ever feel the need to wonder why,
Let me know.
When you feel how you feel, it's hard for me to understand. So many things have taken place before this love affair began. But if you feel like I feel, confusion will give way to doubt. There are times when I fall short of what I say; what I say I'm all about.

Into the Beautiful North book review 3/5
In the novel Into the Beautiful North by Luis Urrea was a little
depressing. I liked the characters and the way he developed them. The
book was realistic fiction and it let me understand the stuggles that
these people have.I was an interesting book and it grabbed my attention.

An Ode to My Soul- An Image Inspired Story 3/4
An Ode
Do you know me? I mean, really know me. Of course, you don't. Unless I can instantly become like all of the others, you don't see me. Stay original my parents told me. Boys notice that more than the groupies they said. Well, they were wrong. I'm still invisible. But, you can see me. You know Im here. You just don't care.
I know your name. Do you know mine? Maybe you do. But that is just a title that everyone has forced me to wear. You dont know me, the real me. You only see the outside. You do not know about the soul within, what leads me to act. Get to know the me inside, not just the outside. They're both beautiful.
